West Wing -- Josh/Donna

Won't we go dancing, till it all starts over again

A few days before I came home, my family installed Verizon Fios. This means several things. One, I have abandoned the small but mighty ranks of Those Without Cable TV. Two, I am sitting here staring in utter fascination at the fact that Cabaret is airing on an actual TV channel. (Channel 188, to be precise -- a formerly unthinkably high number in terms of channels.) Three, thanks to the new Fios wireless internet, I am posting about it from my living room.

Seriously people, this is so cool. 95% of the channels are totally useless crap, but on the other hand I just caught the last half of P.S I Love You, and I was watching the BBC World News earlier, and Doctor Who is on in fifteen minutes.

In slightly less cheerful -- but still rather amusing, to me -- news, you know what's a really classy way to get your feelings across to someone? Write a malicious, cruel poem about how awful they are, post it in a note on Facebook, and then tag the person in the note. Seriously, I think new heights of passive-aggressiveness have now been reached. Just. What? The person who did this shall remain nameless, though rather obvious nonetheless to some. Apparently, my "fat ass" is going to "burn in hell."

No, seriously.

Guys, be careful going outside :/ My dad fell on the icy steps and hurt his back really badly.

Oh gosh, I have been remiss in the "8 days of happy things" meme. I won't try to list things from the past few days, but here's some stuff nonetheless.
-It's the first day of Hanukkah. This means latkes!
-The Christmas season always makes me really happy.
-I'm (hopefully) going to go visit the old high school haunts tomorrow with Corynn and Lili.
-My nails are light blue, dark blue, and copper, thanks to an evening of nail polish and Doctor Who with Chris.
-Franny will be here soon!
-I'm still amazed and transfixed by Fios.
-My niece is soooo pretty.

West Wing -- Josh/Donna

home again, home again jiggity jig

Oh god it's so good to be home.

My niece is YOOOGE. She is not even the same baby. But she is so beautiful. And she looks a lot like I did at her age, especially when she smiles hugely and tries to tear off people's skin/glasses/jewelry. Hopefully she'll outgrow that; I certainly never did. But yeah, if you never thought it was possible to be injured by a five-month-old infant, please observe the claw marks on my face and my damaged earlobes. Ooh look, Auntie Carolyn's wearing hoop earrings! I'm going to grab them and pull with all the power in my tiny fists!

Still. She's amazing. As is Lysander, though Lysander does not understand that I cannot run around/play hide and seek/be a horse at the moment due to leg breakage. Adorable Lysander moment for today, since I'm supposed to keep [info]gazzafizza06 and others updated:

This came after I had been teasing him about having a "girlfriend" -- a girl in his class named Casey, on whom he has the biggest crush ever.
"...and Mason is one of my class boys. He's not a teacher, I go to school with him. And Casey is...is my girlfriend. And maybe someday when I am bigger and she is bigger too, know what I will do? I will marry her."

Cue me squeeing for about five minutes, and then a period of contemplative silence, broken by Lysander saying quietly "...she will wear a dress."
"Aww, and what will you wear?"
"A TIE! ...and a shirt, and a jacket."

Aww, my little heteronormative Bean.

I am exhausted. Totally exhausted. Was at the coolest party ever until about 4 a.m (dancing! Hugs! Cuddle piles! Henna!) and then had a biiiig day of traveling, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to slip into a coma fairly soon. Hoping I can make it through a hot bath and some cocoa first.
