DUMB GIRLY STUFF AHOY

So, I've decided that my hair is currently A) too long and B) too boring. I wish to change this. Now, for the last 3 or 4 years, I've tried to keep my hair fairly conventional and adaptable. Why? Because I had these odd delusions that I would land the lead role in a play or musical, and would need to be able to play a generically feminine looking heroine.

Folks, those days are over. The closest I ever got to that dream was playing Jack's Mother in Into the Woods. I think we can all agree that I basically suck at acting and singing and, outside of Piscapo's Arm shows, improv comedy nights, and possibly one day OCircus, I will never stand in the glow of the footlights again. With that in mind, I'm prepared to get a haircut that's a little more radical. NOT as radical as my Rachel Maddow haircut I got before I started high school -- Rachel's lucky she keeps hers short, because when that grows out it ain't pretty. But something a little more edgy and funky is what I'm after now.

I was thinking a style that's longer in the front and shorter in the back. I want it cute and interesting and different, but I also want it VERY LOW MAINTENANCE. I do not have the time, patience, or girly talent to fuss with my hair each morning. I also DO NOT WANT RIHANNA'S HAIRCUT. I do think it's adorable, but A) I don't want people to look at me and think "Oh, she has Rihanna's haircut" and B) damn, I am white.

Thoughts? Opinions? Have you had a haircut along these lines that you would like to show me or recommend to me?

I kind of like this haircut, also this one. Also this one, but it's possible I'm just in love with the woman IN the picture (Felicia Day!! ♥ ). It is also possible that I will not magically look like her if I get that haircut.

So yeah, I'd love to hear your thoughts and advice! Again -- nothing high maintenance, nothing that'll be all up in my grill all the time, and nothing too faggy* emo.
